MindFacets touches on a lot of subjects, including personality, temperament, emotion, and flow of information. In exploring these topics, it becomes apparent how some psychological and philosophical models correlate with MindFacets. It has been exciting to try to figure out about how the mind works, draw some new conclusions mechanics of the mind, and then discover others have already created systems around these conclusions. It validates both the train of thought we are on with MindFacets, as well as these existing systems. It is also exciting to be in a position to help unify several systems.
Here is a quick overview of models integrated so far, to some extent. If you are already familiar with one of the models below, you may want to click one of these links for a description of how they mesh with MindFacets:
- 16 Type Systems (including Carl G. Jung’s Psychological Types, Myers-Briggs’ MBTI, Socionics, Keirsey Temperament Sorter, and others.)
- PAD model of emotion
- DISC assessment
- I Ching Plus, yin and yang (masculine and feminine, dominant vs submissive, expressive vs receptive), text vs context
- Cognitive science: chunking, frames
The Enneagram doesn’t have a story yet for how it meshes with MindFacets (yet), although I have also found it a highly useful system as a complement to MindFacets, (and others have tried to link it with 16 type systems):
- Enneagram
